A stateless Linux operating system built to go anywhere.
AvalancheOS is a portable, stateless Linux operating system designed to provide a complete desktop environment that runs directly from USB without requiring installation to the computer you are using.
AvalancheOS is built from Ubuntu Cinnamon 26.04 LTS, providing the underlying Linux foundation and Cinnamon desktop environment. AvalancheOS adds its own configuration, branding, software selection, and portable, stateless experience on top of that foundation.
AvalancheOS Portable is designed to run directly from a USB drive rather than becoming permanently installed on the host computer. Your existing operating system remains where it is.
Each session starts fresh. AvalancheOS is designed so that the temporary working environment does not become permanently tied to the computer you are using.
AvalancheOS is being developed as an independent project with a focus on portability, simplicity, and a straightforward desktop experience.
Boot. Work. Shut down. Move on. AvalancheOS Portable is built around the idea that your operating environment can travel with you.
